Debbie, Arin, and Jayne got together at Debbie’s to look at tree illustrations from artists around the world. They needed to find a theme that the kids would have fun with and not be intimidated with trees that were too “realistic.”
Arin and Debbie, mixing paint for the intial paintings for this project. Gotta love Arin’s painter pants.
Diggin’ those trees. Where’s Jayne you’re probably thinking. She’s there. Right behind the camera!
The tree above was Arin’s first shot at her interpretation of a tree the kids could be inspired by. Cool, huh?
Here is Debbie’s first attempt at her fun trees. Lotta color going on here.
See….Jayne’s got work here. This is her first try at happy trees.
On the first day of instructing the kids, Arin and Jayne sketched and painted along with the kids. This is Arin’s 2nd tree painting.
This is Jayne’s 2nd tree. Where’s Debbie’s 2nd tree? Well, she was playing teacher and helping all the kids with their stuff and being very supportive. Gotta love Debbie.
So, these trees, along with the trees from illustrators that the teens were shown, were given to them to look over and to then make their own! And by the looks of the final mural, they did all of us proud.
